This slam dunk lesson focusses on ANZAC Day in Australia and New Zealand. My slam dunk lesson is aimed at students in years 5/6 in the Adelaide Hills area, though it can be adapted for other areas. It focuses on bushfire prevention, safety and preparation. The activities are an initial question sheet, where the students have to navigate their way around the website to find answers, and then also to create a poster that shows what they have learnt.
To Be or Not to Be?: An introduction to Shakespeare and Elizabethan times.
A slam dunk lesson aimed at years 9/10 as an introduction to Shakespeare. The lesson introduces students to the culture of the Elizabethan Era and requires them to recognise changes between these times and the present. It also introduces students to Shakespeare's plays and allows them to draw links as to why certain events in Shakespeare's plays were linked to society in the times they were written.
