Water. A valuable resource?

Show Menu

           Inquiry units

Jon4.bmp

Hi! I am Jonathon Pickering. When I started studying  6 years ago it was the last year of the B.Ed course and  I had no children.  I now have three and am hopefully about a month and a half away from finishing my studies. My major areas of study have been earth science, indigenious studies(SOSE) with some studies in mathematics.

Rationale:

I have chosen to base this inquiry on water as a valuable resource as  we live in the driest state on the driest continent and there has been much talk  about issues such as water restrictions, reservoir levels, storm water and desalination plants.

I will strive to develop students deep thinking by connecting statements they have heard with understanding while stimulating their thinking to raise other issues and suggest possible resultant behaviour  if they feel the initial thought is true

Stage 1. Unit overview.

Stage 2. Assessment Evidence

Stage 3. Learning Plan

Stage 4a. A detailed lesson plan

Stage 4b A detailed lesson plan.
