Integrated Learning Plan

Hello, my name is Sarah Bainbridge and I am currently in my final year of university.

My degree is a Bachelor of Education (Junior Primary/Primary) and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Digital Media and English.

The title of my unit is "WHO AM I? WHO ARE WE?" and is basically a study of identity.

I have chosen this topic because I feel it is important for students to have a strong understanding of who they are and what their place is in our world.

I feel that studying identity will help students improve their self esteem and also help to improve their social skills in particular by respecting others. It is important to me that my classroom is a place where students will know their rights, learn good values, feel safe and be able to express themselves.

In reference to the curriculum scope and standards, this best fits into the subject of 'Health' and the aim of 'The establishment of a positive self concept and relationships.' However I feel it is a topic that can easily be integrated across the curriculum.
