| The Inquiry Overview |
| |
|
One of the issues facing today’s students is that they living in a world that is constantly changing due to the rapid advancements of technology. These emerging technologies have resulted in the development and availability of numerous forms of communication. As a consequence students need to be aware of how communication has changed, what exists now and how it can be used safely and effectively to ensure they survive rather than become a casualty of such change.
Getting Year 7/8 students to undertake this unit of inquiry which looks at how technology has impacted on the way people communicate will achieve this because students will be encouraged to
- think about how people communicate and why the way we communicate has changed and will continue to change
- explore the various technologies used for communication
- reflect on the impact technologies has on the way people communicate
- find out what tools and techniques should be used when communicating to different audiences
